Toronto, Ontario, (November 19, 2012) – Discovery Education Canada has partnered with PMA Biographies to bring dynamic and engaging digital media to K-12 classrooms across the country. Digital content, such as videos and images, enhances curriculum, empowers teachers, inspires students and improves achievement. Discovery Education Canada provides curriculum-based digital content, professional development and assessment resources to thousands of Canadian schools. In addition to PMA Biographies content, Discovery Education Canada also has enhanced its streaming services with hundreds of new podcasts and exclusive videos from across Discovery Communications` family of networks.

Discovery Education Canada will provide PMA Biographies videos to teachers and students through its Streaming and Streaming Plus services. Through the services, teachers and students have access to a library of more than 150,000 digital resources that cover all curriculum areas and address multiple learning styles.
Teachers and students will have exclusive access to PMA Biographies` Extraordinary Canadians series, which pairs Canada’s most distinguished contemporary writers with Canadians who have shaped the country`s thinking. Pierre Trudeau, Glenn Gould, Norman Bethune and Lester B. Pearson are among the Canadians featured in the series.
In addition to PMA Biographies videos, Discovery Communications content also is now available to teachers and students exclusively through Discovery Education Canada`s Streaming and Streaming Plus services. Among the resources are more than 380 podcasts from the HowStuffWorks show Stuff You Should Know as well as groundbreaking new video programs, including the Discovery Channel special Scanning the Skies: The Discovery Channel Telescope, the SCIENCE special Ramses: Mummy King Mystery, along with other popular content from Discovery’s family of networks.
